Letsbuy.com Review - Delivered an old Samsung LED TV - New unit delivered now.

After being in touch with Letsbuy.com team, they have helped resolve my issue of old TV delivery. They have promised that Letsbuy.com is strengthening their processes to ensure such incidents don't repeat. Today morning (1st Nov 2011) a  fresh new TV with manufacturing date of Oct 2011 with 0 hours of usage history was delivered. Will update my original post on delivery of old used Samsung LED UA32D5900 TV with new pictures. My other item in order Samsung BlueRay player BD-D5100 was also delivered but has a problem right out of the box. Its drive is making loud sounds when turned on. This is a new piece with Samsung's manufacturing defect but I have reported it to Letsbuy for a replacement.

I am hoping for many other customers who continue to report issues with Letsbuy (Mouthshut letsbuy review page), their issues also get resolved.

  1. I have been shopping online for last 15 years (starting with AMAZON, BUY.COM etc. ) , but never encountered such a bad customer service.
    I have ordered a laptop on 27th Oct which was delivered on 2nd


    Nov , the product was defective and used as O/S was already configured , which is generally not the case with new laptops ,I immdiately informed letsbuy customer service about the problem, and on Nov 3rd they informed that someone will pick up defective product the next day,but it was not picked up, Now it 10 days (Nov 12th ) and I am following up on daily basis to pickup, but no improvement in status quo. The Customer return service person wont pickup her phone or reply your emails.. When you call customer service you have to wait 10 to 30 minute before some one picks up the call, they are generally polite , but no action, as I believe they have to pass the buck to Customer Return Service again. I have written to ceo@letsbuy.com as well, but never got even an automated reply. I don’t believe the CEO even cares about customers.

    I regret the decision of buying a product from Letsbuy and decide not to repeat the mistake. I think flipkart, anytimeretail, indiaplaza are much better estores.
    I feel now best option would be buying the product locally even it is bit costier, you can atleast demand better customer service.
    I am planning to move to consumer forum, if they don’t take appropriate actions soon.

  2. Yes Neesh, I also have been shopping online for many years from Amazon, Newegg, Buy.com, Staples etc and then in India Ebay, Flipkart and so on. This was my first experience with Letsbuy as with they were Rs~3K cheaper than Flipkart or local store. Problems start when companies get overwhelmed with growth of business and do not upgrade their service and delivery infrastructure while customers and number of orders they take increases. Unless there is commitment of management towards quality and customer satisfaction and that flows down to all employees of the companies customers will face problems and prospects of continued growth of company become bleak.

  4. never buy any product from Letsbuy.com...they delivery sucks....first of all they give you partial shipment....and their customer service have no clue whats going on and they have one god damned manager who is forever busy...probably taking other frustrated customer's calls...and they just dont have answers to ur queries.....just a scripted answer...."wait for 24-48 hours"....they tell this to u practically everyday that u call them......i fail to understand, '24-48 hrs' from which day?????

  5. I agree totally Rubia. We have to followup regularly with letsbuy to get things moving if at all you get connected to them and get a response. Hopefully things will improve here on letsbuy and other e commerce sites in India.

  6. Order No. LSB-728735 has been delayed over a week.
    I called customer care 4-5 times and each time there is a new problem. The next day after the order I was told it will be delivered within
    4 working days. On the 3rd day I got an email saying the product is out of stock. On the 5th day when I called customer care I was told that the product is now back in stock but due to some internal error they cannot confirm delivery time. Its not been 8 days, today again when I called Customer Care I was told that they have raised a complaint to the concerned department but they don’t have any info on the delivery.

    The customer care has no information on the product or delivery tim e, they just keep giving you stories and make a fool of you.

    Secondly, 0124 4901234 (24 hours, 7 days a week) is false. This was mentioned in the email received from Letsbuy.com customer care but they are not available 24x7. Now they have finally changed it to 8am to 9pm but they don’t answer the phone before 11am.

    I’ve been shopping online since the past 4 years and this has been the probably the most horrible experience I’ve had. I strongly recommend AGAINST shopping from Letsbuy.com I am regretting buying from Letsbuy.com

    On asking about the refund policy, I was told that the refund will be processed in 21 days. I am shocked at this, most websites refund money within 7 working days and max 14 days.

    Letsbuy.com has absolutely no regard for their customer!!

E-Commerce and online retail shopping has a long way to go in India specially the attitude of companies and individuals running these companies like Letsbuy.com towards customers and quality of service has to change. If they are just trying to make a quick buck and get out of business then it is a different thing but if they are here for the long run and create name and value for their companies and stake holders then things need to change for positive. In any case of cheating or not fulfilling the order as promised after taking money they need to be taken to consumer forums/courts.

    I placed one order (My First) No. LSB-809864, on dated 26.01.2012 for 2 nos. Ajanta OLC-20 Digital Wall Clock.
    Latter after browsing net, i came across hundreds and thousands of complaints against letsbuy.com.
    I called up and also wrote to them, i was assured that the item will be despatched soon.
    On 03.02.2012 I got a mail from them that the item has been dispatched through Blue Dart with AWB No.43835231565.
    When I tried to track the same in blue Dart's site, the no. provided found to be a fake one.
    I again wrote to them, and also called them. I was replied on 09.02.2012 that they too are puzzled and they are escalating my complaint to their logistics department. The complaint no. given to me was CC120244596.
    I believe they are cheating their Customers.
    I would request the Consumer Court to take appropriate action against them.

  9. @ Debasis Misra, posting a stinking review on Mouthshut appears to be most effective method to make Letsbuy listen. Now that they have sold business to Flipkart I am not sure about current team's motivation to resolve customer issues.

  10. They are exchanging the LED TV with each other. They replaced it from here before a long time.As they are quite in the habit of having this with them.So they don't have any problem to exchange this.

    absolutely horrible service! i had ordered a book from letsbuy on the 27th of june 2012. according to their website, the expected delivery time was 2-3 days. given the fact that it was a weekend following my order, i expected the book to arrive on monday or latest by tuesday. no sign of it till now!

    i called up the courier guys, one of the biggest names in india. they gave me some cock and bull story about "we will deliver in the next 2 days.

    i also emailed customer service at letsbuy quite a few times. getting frustrated, i called them today and got the same management textbook response from the idiots there - "we are trying to expedite your delivery sir, we are sorry for the delay and we apologise for the inconvenience."

    just because they give a discount, i guess they believe they have the right to hold customers to ransom. this is ridiculous service. there is no responsibility on part of both letsbuy and their lousy courier service, bluedart. i hope no one else suffers because of their total lack of responsibility.its gonna be a very serious issue to stay in the market where their competitor like discountsvu.com or infibeam is really excellent in all aspects.
